Artist Statement
After graduating college with a degree in history and education, my calling to art took hold. My sister and I started a stained glass business called Trapped Glass in 1972. We created custom windows for homes, businesses and churches. Creating art for others was challenging but I also wanted to express my creativity by doing what I wanted. This desire lead to being an exhibiter in the prestigious Laguna Beach Festival of Arts for 32 years.
A few years ago I decided to take a new path artistically. I started doing research in abstract expressionist painting. Exploring this type of art has been invigorating and satisfying. I enjoy experimenting with new techniques, tools and materials used in abstract painting. I now have a renewed energy for creating art.
I love the fact that abstract art evokes different emotions in each person who views it.
